Mental Health in Design & Tech
As designers, we talk an awful lot about empathy and being human-centered.
Yet, while mental health awareness has gained some traction recently, the design & tech space remains a hotbed of burnout, anxiety, and depression.
In this talk, Clive K. Lavery will share some of his own lived experience with depression, his learnings as a Mental Health First Aider, and observations from talking to numerous industry figures about their struggles.
He argues now is the time to push aside the shame and stigma attached to ill mental health in our industry and beyond - what could be a more human-centered design problem to solve in these volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous times?
