The Top 10 Visual Countdown Timers Online
When running workshops online, it’s important that your audience knows how much time they have for each activity.
There are lots of browser-based tools online that give you a beautiful, full-screen countdown or stopwatch functionality for free, and we all know you have too many subscriptions as it is.
These timers work straight from the browser so they’ll work with any meeting tool that lets you share your screens such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Hangouts.
Completely Free Browser-Based Timer Apps
Drumroll, please. After exactly 19 minutes of research (yes, I timed it) I found the best timers on the internet. Now you can choose a timer that matches your vibe…especially if your vibe is a Compaq Presario from the late 90s.
1. Big Timer
This timer is our favorite because it’s simple, and it has a cute look. If you’re looking for something quick or to overcompensate for something, look no further.
2. Flipclock Timer
Remember those clocks that physically flipped? This one recreates that clock perfectly and even includes a quick link to the lo-fi girl station on YouTube for working music. Best feature list and still minimal…A+!!!
3. Online Stopwatch
Look no further than this web 1.0 dream…especially if you dress in that norm-core vibe. We would rank this timer #1 if it played that bass line from Seinfield at the end of time.
4. Countdown Pages
If you want customization that will leave your audience seriously questioning your taste, look no further than these countdown pages. Oh, by the way, your Myspace profile called. They said they want their timer back.
5. Clearleft Timer
This one loses points for being thirsty and advertising Design Sprints. Sadly, we are a sucker for the classic design of the Time Timer, making this timer a top contender in our prestigious list.
6. vClock
Check out this timer for a vintage feel with lots of customization, including a fullscreen mode. Make sure you try out all 4 functions…or don’t. We don’t care.
7. Egg Timer
If you want a text-based timer with a clean aesthetic. look no further than the Egg Timer. We like that the background acts as a meter to show the time left, and life is mostly full of pain so let us have this one thing, ok?
8. AlphaKevin Timer
Hats off to AlphaKevin for creating a timer you can operate without a mouse. The only thing more badass than turning on a timer in a workshop with a few keystrokes is doing it with a sword…which you can probably do with some practice.
9. Timer.net
If you’re looking for a timer that looks like a stopwatch—well, you’re in luck. Because this one does that. Wait till you hear the ring at the end of this one…it will bring tears to your eyes.
10. Google Timer
If you type “timer” into any Google search bar, you get a little timer/countdown widget. You can click a button to make it go full screen, making this a quick coughcoughlazycough option.
Bonus: Pomofocus
Since I’m feeling drunk with power, I’m creating a special bonus section. I have attention issues so I love using the Pomodoro method. This timer is the best in my “Humble” opinion. The world is a cold, dark place, and if we all took a five-minute break, maybe there would be fewer jerks in the world.
There you have it. The best browser-based online timers on the internet.
