Free Online Image Glitcher & GIF Maker

Want to turn an image into a GIF? Want to make a photo look like it’s old VHS footage? How about turning a static scene into a cinemagraph? You can do all of this for free in your browser with Photomosh.

Photomosh is an excellent way to add life to a boring image. Take a look at some of the effects we got from an image of Marcel Duchamp.

We recommend using black-and-white photos. We got the best effects by hitting the mosh button (which generates a random effect) until it seems interesting, then slowing the effect down to make it more subtle and realistic.

Motion effects like “Melt” or “Wobble” with speed turned down make for perfect cinematography that will cause the viewer to do a double-take. These surreal GIFs look better if you make them subtle.

I’m a big fan of the tool and even pay for the Pro version.

I use it daily to animate images as .mp4 files for Instagram (gotta love that algorithm), so it’s a no-brainer.
